                                                           Overview and Testimonials

I have studied with Firooz for close to a year, and I continue to be amazed by his skills and abilities. With every lesson I am exposed to more
of his talent. His Flamenco/Classical guitar playing skills and knowledge are on the level of a master. In addition --- maybe even more
importantly --- Firooz exercises the patience of a religious teacher when imparting his knowledge and technique. In my time as a
Flamenco/Classical guitar student of Firooz's I have learned much, and, I hope to continue learning. I am much appreciative of the
opportunity to be a Firooz Sorkhabi Flamenco/Classical guitar student!

For the "average" student Firooz is a phenomenal teacher.  He patiently explains concepts to those curious about music theory, and has
somehow makes students leave with not only skill, but also with confidence.  More importantly, for the "above average" student—that is,
the student who wants to learn not just to play the guitar, but to express him or herself through the instrument, Firooz is a guru.
Watching him play and listening to his stories about dedicating a life to music are inspirational, and he never hesitates to pass down the
wisdom he has gathered from a life's experience and the famous teachers he himself has had.   I have not yet mentioned, of course, the
hospitality.  Tea and dates abound, which may be why lessons can last long  past an hour. Studying under Firooz can not simply be
considered classes, it is an apprenticeship.   This will not be, I assure you, an average experience.

Firooz has the patience of a saint, the knowledge of a professional and the generosity of a teacher.  My first “one hour” lesson lasted almost
3 hours, and in each subsequent lesson he spent much more time than he should have helping me master the next step of a song (even when
I was frustrated and ready to give up) and never letting me pay for the extra time.  I found that because he was being so generous with his
time, it made me want to practice more, so we entered into a virtuous cycle which made Flamenco even more fun and appealing for me. I
recommend him wholeheartedly, and assure each of his future students that he will teach them more than they thought they could learn.

Hello to all reading this testimonial. I've been under Firooz's tutelage since Aug. 2004 and I must say its been a fun and a super experience.
I had no understanding or workings of the guitar before I joined his classes. But Firooz has been extremely patient with me and taught me
the flamenco style and guitar in general in such a manner that doesn't tire me out or bore me. Classes usually last from the time I walk in
and till I learn the lesson of the day. And if I showed more interest he makes the lessons more intricate and tough but only for my benefit.
He makes tabs and notes for all his students and since its one-on-one sessions he makes sure they understand it thoroughly. He hooked me
up with a very nice guitar at a very reasonable price and so far he has taught me how to play
Malagueña,Romance Anon, two different
versions of GreenSleeves, Zapateado, Tanguillo, Sivillinas, Soleares, Siguirias and Studio No. 1, Study in Em by  (FranciscoTarrega) .  I
hope to continue this for however long I can. And in the end what really matters is that he has a good heart. I'm happy to say that Firooz has
that in Plenty. And by the way did I mention that he is a terrific flamenco guitarist?

Thanks for reading this.         Madhu

I am a Harvard University student I started taking lessons from Firooz in Oct. 2004. After a while I ran out of doe and had to leave. I shied
away even to discuss it with him. It’s like something was missing. Finally I decided to give him a call and go back to continue. His response
was great he accepted me with open arms, treated me like family and assured me that there was nothing to worry about and he will help me
to remember every thing all over again as if I had never left. That was a great feeling and gave me a lot of encouragement. He is a very
confident and demanding teacher who maintains an excellent teaching discipline but he is also a wholeheartedly good friend, and only
demanding because he wants you to discover the untapped talent he sees in you.

”I’m a Harvard Student Firooz has been my guitar teacher since the fall 2005, and he is my first teacher ever. I must say I am lucky, since I
got the best teacher to teach me from the very beginning! Taking time off the studies to come and spend an hour (or more, because Firooz
cares about you learning and does not follow the clock) a wheel with my great friend is always a pleasure, even at the times when I feel like
there are plenty of other things I should be doing. Each time Firooz plays, nothing else matters - the flamenco world is the only one you can
be in. This world is the world of balance, reason and joy. Listening to Firooz's life stories is another plus - this man is just great! Thank you
for all the time and I look forward to our next lesson!

Hugs, Slobo Radoman"

I take pride in my style of teaching that enables me to be a pioneer of such a success. It's been a grand pleasure of mine for years now, to
have satisfied and loyal students as well as co artists. They are like second family.
